What are they?
Heat pumps work by moving the heat from one location to another. There are two main types of heat pumps - air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps.
Air source heat pumps

Experts have conducted studies which show that a ground source heat pump will save homeowners between £750 and £1,500 a year on their heating bills (if their current heating is powered by electricity using an older, less energy-efficient system).
Installing the heat pump will cost between £9,500 and £18,500 depending on the type and size of the pump you are having installed.
